Molecular biology is a science that studies the structure and function of biological macromolecules at the molecular level to clarify the essence of life phenomena. Since the 1950s, molecular biology has been the frontier and growth point of biology. Its main research fields include protein system, protein-nucleic acid system (with molecular genetics at the center) and protein-lipid system (i.e. biofilm).
