Northwest University (NWU) traces its roots back to 1902, and formally became “Northwest University” in 1912. It is a national key university, part of China’s “211 Project”, and jointly supported by the Ministry of Education and Shaanxi Province. The university has 24 schools / departments, plus a graduate school, offering full-range degree programs (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral) and maintains 24 post‑doctoral research stations. NWU is recognized for its “Double First‑Class” construction status in disciplines such as geology and archaeology. Its campus covers several sites and hosts over 28,000 full‑time students (including undergraduates and postgraduate students) and 600+ international students, supported by a faculty of more than 3,000 staff, including academicians and nationally recognized scholars.
