About

Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) is a prominent national key university directly under the "Ministry of Education", and is among the first institutions in China included in "Project 211" as well as the "Double First‑Class" development initiative. Co‑constructed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Transport, WUT traces its origins to the Hubei Gongyi School, founded in 1898, and over nearly 70 years has trained around 700,000 senior professionals. The university is especially renowned for educating talent in the building materials, construction, transportation, and automotive industries, making it a leading force in these three sectors. With a strong foundation in engineering, WUT’s academic offerings also integrate science, economics, management, arts, literature, and law. Presently, the university enrolls around 37,000 undergraduates, 23,000 master’s and PhD students, and has over 900 international students.
