About

China University of Petroleum (East China) is a national key university under the Ministry of Education, co‑constructed by the Ministry of Education, five major state energy companies (CNPC, SINOPEC, CNOOC, Shenhua, Yanchang), and the Shandong Provincial Government. It is part of "Project 211" and is also a “985 Project Advantageous Discipline Innovation Platform” university. In 2017, it was selected into China’s Double First‑Class initiative, with two first-class disciplines: Oil & Gas Engineering and Geological Resources & Geological Engineering, included in the national list. In 2019, more than half of its majors were included in the first batch of national “Double 10,000 Plan” first-class undergraduate programs, marking important progress in its discipline and academic quality development.
