About the university
The predecessor of Communication University of China was the training course for technicians of the Central Broadcasting Bureau, which was founded in 1954; In 1958, it was renamed Beijing Broadcasting College; In 1959, it was upgraded to Beijing Broadcasting Institute with the approval of the State Council; In 2000, it was transferred from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television to the Ministry of Education; In 2002, the East Campus of Beijing Campus of China University of Mining and Technology was integrated; In 2004, it was renamed Communication University of China. It is a university with industry characteristics in the field of information communication directly under the Ministry of Education, a national key university for "world-class discipline construction", "211 Project" and "985 Project Superior Discipline Innovation Platform".
