About

Jiangnan University, located in Wuxi by the scenic Taihu Lake, traces its roots to 1902 with San Jiang Normal School and became independent in 1958 as Wuxi Institute of Light Industry, later merging with other colleges in 2001 to adopt its current name. It is a national key “211 Project” and “Double First-Class” university under China’s Ministry of Education, covering 208 hectares and comprising 22 schools. The university upholds the motto of pursuing learning and practice to perfection, emphasizing research, innovation, and international collaboration. Today, Jiangnan University enrolls over 21,000 undergraduates, around 14,000 graduate students, and approximately 300 international students, supported by a faculty and staff of more than 3,300.
