About

Qinghai University (hereinafter referred to as Qingda), located in Xining, Qinghai Province, is a "university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Qinghai Province", a national "world-class discipline construction university", and a national "211 Project" key construction university. Qinghai University, formerly known as Qinghai Institute of Technology, was founded in 1958. In November 1960, Qinghai Institute of Technology, Qinghai Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College, Qinghai Medical College, and Qinghai Institute of Finance and Economics were merged into Qinghai University. Qinghai University was abolished in the early days of the Cultural Revolution. In 1971, it was restored to Qinghai Institute of Industry and Agriculture, which included engineering and agriculture. In 1988, it was renamed Qinghai University. In October 1997, Qinghai Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College was incorporated. In January 2001, Qinghai Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, Qinghai Academy of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, and Qinghai Vocational and Technical College of Finance and Economics were reorganized and incorporated. In 2004, Qinghai Medical College was incorporated into the new Qinghai University.
