Founded in 1960, Shanghai University of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (formerly Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade) is a university directly under the former Ministry of Foreign Trade (Economic) Cooperation; In 1982, he became a bachelor's degree awarding unit; In 1984, he began to train master students; In 1986, he became a master's degree awarding unit: in 1994, he was under the administration of Shanghai Municipal People's Government; In 2006, it passed the evaluation of undergraduate teaching level by the Ministry of Education at the "excellent" level: in 2009, it was selected as one of the first batch of WTO teaching chair universities in the world and the only one in China, and in 2013, it was renamed as Shanghai University of International Business and Economics; In 2019, it won the qualification of WTO Asia Pacific Training Center, and became the only regional training partner set up in mainland China by seven WTO global training partners.
