About

Founded in 1956, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the first Chinese medicine colleges and universities established in China after the birth of the People's Republic of China. It is a Chinese medicine college "jointly built by ministries and municipalities" by the Ministry of Education and the local government. It is also a high-level university focused on construction in Shanghai and a "double first-class" discipline construction college. In the fourth round of discipline evaluation released by the Ministry of Education, Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, and integration of traditional and western medicine were all rated as A+, ranking first among Chinese medicine universities in China.
