Shihezi University

The predecessor of Shihezi University was born on the march of the Chinese People's Liberation Army to liberate Xinjiang in September 1949. In April 1996, Shihezi Agricultural College, Shihezi Medical College, Bingtuan Normal College and Bingtuan Economic College merged and established. Shihezi University is a national "211 Project" key construction university, a national western development key construction university and a provincial and ministerial co construction university. It is also a selected university of the national "Central and Western Universities Basic Capacity Construction Project" and "Central and Western Universities Comprehensive Strength Improvement Project" (one province, one university). In 2017, the university was selected as a national "double first-class" construction (first-class discipline) university, one of the first batch of demonstration universities to deepen innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, the third batch of "national university practice education innovation and entrepreneurship base", in 2018, the university was selected as a "ministry provincial joint construction" university of the Ministry of Education and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, in 2019, the second batch of "national party building demonstration universities" cultivation and establishment units, and in 2020, the university was awarded as a "national civilized campus".
