UTAS’s primary campus is in Sandy Bay, Hobart, a beachside suburb five minutes from the city center, offering panoramic river and city views. The Launceston campus (Newnham) overlooks the Tamar River, while the Cradle Coast campus in Burnie focuses on agriculture and rural health. UTAS also has specialized health facilities in Sydney’s Rozelle and Darlinghurst, including a nursing campus at St Vincent’s Hospital, and a joint research facility at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Pyrmont. Tasmania’s proximity to Melbourne (a one-hour flight) and its natural attractions, such as World Heritage wilderness and beaches, make it an appealing study destination.
