Dalian Maritime University (DMU), located in Dalian, Liaoning Province, is a public university directly under the Ministry of Transport of China. It is a national key university, part of Project 211, and included in the Double First-Class initiative, with Transport Engineering recognized as a world-class discipline. Known as the “cradle of navigators,” DMU traces its origins to 1909 and was officially named Dalian Maritime University in 1994 after several mergers of regional maritime institutions.
