Zhejiang Ocean University (ZJOU) is established by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and it has become one of the key universities in Zhejiang province. The university was created in 1988 from the merger of Zhejiang Fishery University (established in 1958) and Zhoushan Junior Teachers College (established in 1978). The institution has programs that concentrate on the seas and oceans. It enables the growth of multidisciplinary fields such as science, agronomy, engineering, literature, medicine, management, education, and economics.The university covers more than 2608 Mu and another sea use area of 720 Mu, with 53.4㎡ of the schoolhouse and other facilities. University has 10 schools, 1 independent school, 2 teaching units, and 2 interdisciplinary research institutions.
